Permanent Lip Liner Post Care Recommendations

Except as noted below, the post care recommendations should be adhered to for 14 days.

  1. To reduce swelling and redness, apply ice and cold compresses to the lip area.
  2. Use a minimal application of antibiotic ointment twice a day for 7 days. Be sure to use q-tips or clean cotton swabs (not your fingers) to ensure a steril application.
  3. Do not rub or scrape the brow. If it is peeling or flaking, allow this to occur naturally.
  4. Do not use any chemicals or cleansing creams to clean. Use only a mild antibacterial soap, then pat dry.
  5. Do not use strong water pressure in the shower on the mouth.
  6. Do not swim. This includes personal pools, public pools, and beaches.
  7. Do not sunbathe or expose eye brows to direct sunlight.
  8. A strong sunblock should be used indefinitely on the face to minimize fading or pigment color.
  9. Do not use lip stick, lip gloss, or chap stick for 7 days. When resumed, use a brand new package (as there may be bacteria in the current package which could cause infection.)
  10. Do not donote blood for 1 year. (American Red Cross guideline)
