Permanent Eye Liner Post Care Recommendations
Except as noted below, the post care recommendations should be adhered to for 14 days.
- To reduce swelling and redness, apply ice and cold compresses to the eye area.
- Use a minimal application of antibiotic ointment twice a day for 7 days. Be sure to use q-tips or clean cotton swabs (not your fingers) to ensure a steril application.
- Do not rub or scrape the eyes. If it is peeling or flaking, allow this to occur naturally.
- Do not use any chemicals or cleansing creams to clean. Use only a mild antibacterial soap, then pat dry.
- Do not use strong water pressure in the shower on the eyes.
- Do not swim. This includes personal pools, public pools, and beaches.
- Do not sunbathe or expose eyes to direct sunlight.
- A strong sunblock should be used indefinitely on the face to minimize fading or pigment color.
- Do not use mascara or eyelash curler for 7 days. When resumed, use a brand new package (as there may be bacteria in the current package which could cause infection.)
- Do not donote blood for 1 year. (American Red Cross guideline)
